Kitak Orang Sarawak Kah?

This afternoon I was with a 'pakcik' in a lift.
He looked at me with that look.
You know..muka hairan.

I smiled, he went:

"Kitak orang mana? Orang Sarawak kah?"
"Sik, mek orang semenanjung.."
"Oh..bukan ka..Tapi muka kitak macam orang Sarawak.."

I smiled again *sikda idea what to say. haha*.

He continued:
"Ayah kitak kerja LNG ka?"
"Sik pakcik.."

Then he left, I continued walking to my office.
Confused here, I definitely think that I don't look like a Sarawakian. Not even close.
But he's not the one who said that.
I heard the same question before.

Ok, I repeat. I'm from semenanjung, was born in Perak.
Raised in Perak, Melaka and Kedah.
